The West Carleton Heritage Park Association (WHCPA) was formed in 2006 with the intent to promote public education in regards to the farming heritage of West Carleton Township. The guiding principles of the Association are:

  • To create within the Village of Carp a not-for-profit heritage village theme park representing early Carleton County using artefacts and heritage buildings from within the County;

  • To develop and promote the widest possible public interest in the historic themes of the park and recreational uses of the heritage buildings and site as well as provide proper housing for artefacts entrusted to the care of the Association.

  • To collaborate with the Carp Agricultural Society in the planning and scheduling of special events for the public and thereby compliment the Fair and become an additional attraction for the Fair.

  • To coordinate with the City of Ottawa as a heritage destination and in other ways so that heritage is promoted.
